They work by recreating water power plants in a smaller scale, this has both positive and negative impacts on the four compass points. This report will explain how the PUR Packet is a realistic and possibly good solution to our world’s water problem. According to Dr. Greg Allgood PUR Packet turns contaminated water into safe drinking water. It does this by going through a similar process to water power plants that filter the water we use everyday. The four points in the compass are Nature (N), Economy (E), Society (S) and Well-Being (W), these points in the compass can help us determine how good this solution is. It is mostly positive in terms of nature and our environment. Using PUR Packet could mean less use of water power plants we could build less of them as they need cleared land to be constructed. According to Children’s Safe Drinking Water Foundation PUR Packet factories are really compact and maximizes the space it uses this means less deforestation and land clearing than building water power plants. All this still has a negative side to it as the content of this product is packaged in plastic sachets, however, this is a small price to pay considering the other impacts. In terms of economy it is both positive and negative depending on what perspective it is looked from at. According to Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (cdc) they are 3.5 cents each however, according to Amazon they are sold not including shipping is is approximately 1.14 Thai baht. According to Proctor and Gamble the shipping price is not supposed have an impact but if you look at it comparing to the price of the product it seems to have a higher value. There are tanks in Thailand that provide drinking water to people that already have a plastic bottle at 1 baht per liter and this is already …show more content…
This is because it is sustainable compared to the other filtration systems and safer too. Although at our house we use about 12000 liters a month (USA Government) and spend about 200 baht on water per person this is 60 liter per baht

Most people do not realize how much water is wasted each year. Even though there is plenty of water to go around for everyone and everything at this moment, there will come a time when humans will need to make serious adjustments in the way they use water. Anita Hamilton, Sandra Postel, and Maude Barlow demonstrate in their articles that they are concerned about water management. They also give examples of how our water is wasted. While Hamilton assumes humans are the only lives on earth that need it to survive, Postel argues that humans should consider water rights for other species on the planet.…

However, the cost of the war, natural disasters, and a French "independence tax" crippled the former colony, leading to an almost instantaneous decline in the country's wealth and prosperity. To put this into perspective, bottled water costs over 100x what tap water costs. Bottled water from brands like Fiji makes tap water seem virtually free. The primary reason people continue to purchase bottled water is because of “manufactured demand”, a tactic used by companies to frighten people into becoming customers of their product. This causes people to spend unnecessary money, when they can get the same resources from their kitchen sink. Tap water achieves the same purpose as bottled water does, simply at a lower cost.…

The rate at which people are consuming bottled water is causing landfills to be filled with approximately seventy-five percent of the plastic water bottles that are made. While bottled water sales increase, the consumption of tap water is the most advantageous choice for health benefits, environment conservation, and affordability as a choice for the consumer.…
