The first important thing is maintaining a proper and healthy diet. Keep your puppy on a regular feeding schedule and put food up between meals. Do not give the puppy too much of your food. That will make the puppy think you will provide it with good food and not eat its puppy food. If you decide to change its diet, slowly mix it with their old food. Make sure to take the puppy out when it wakes up and before it goes to bed. If the puppy is whining, scratching, barking, circling, or sniffing the door, let it out immediately. While the puppy is outside, stay with it until it is fully trained. Also, take it to the same spot so it knows it can go here. After it goes, make sure to give it a treat, so it knows this is right. Make sure to stay outside after it goes in case it still has to go and so it can explore their new environment.
