In order receive the benefits of DevOps you must embrace three phases. The first phase is managing the work that comes in to the IT department. Much like a factory if you manage the work properly and make sure there are not any delays in your production line then tasks can be completed efficiently, on-time and resources can be scheduled properly. In order to physically achieve this development teams and the operations teams must work together from the beginning of a project to the closeout of the project.
