When I was in fifth grade I traveled to Punta de Mita, Mexico. Learning Spanish for the last Five years I felt fairly comfortable communicating with others. Little did I know, I was completely over my head, I first realized that the people who live there speak ten times faster than I could, and I was unable to translate the things they said to me. Discourage, I tried to look for keywords that they said and looked for them in a spanish dictionary. I was eager to be apart of the community and learn about families everyday experience. Approaching a store in the middle of town my family and I met a lady who was compassionate and inspiring.
