A problem I am aware of in my community at UT, that interested me, is the need to implement a way to help students achieve academically and socially. I believe it is the university’s responsibility to keep students excited, involved, and engaged, both inside and outside of the classroom. I feel like a lot is expected of college students, meanwhile juggling their own responsibilities, they work hard, stressful hours that can be tough. They deserve all the benefits and extras that a college campus can offer. With this it will help the University develop the idea they have of well-rounded students. UT doesn’t have anywhere for students to destress on campus, to relax, and temporarily forget about their worries. I believe having …show more content…
The way this could be implemented is by contacting the founder of punchbowl and letting them know how much business they could bring in by turning its focus onto college students. The about in punch bowl states, “We are and always will be a place for people to come and be themselves. And we’ve stocked our place with a delectable collection of unequalled music, food, games, and beverages for you to enjoy as you’re being yourself. You see, we don’t believe in uncomfortable chairs, bland walls, and fluorescent lights. Those things belong in the 9 to 5 world. We DO believe in a ‘dirty modern’ mash up of chandeliers, ‘Gangster’s Paradise,’ food for foodies, PBR tallboys, and craft beverages. We believe in brunch turning into a bowling party and bowling parties turning into all-you-can-sing karaoke. We believe in exploring evenings filled with shuffleboard and made-from-scratch chicken and waffles. You put your responsible, ironed, adult pants every day of the week and you deserve a place where ties and khakis are a choice not a requirement. We are that place—and there are untold possibilities waiting for you here. Come and discover for yourself.”. This is what UT needs a place to come discover yourself, a place to go and relax after hours of doing homework and studying. I understand this may be hard to convince the founder to do but it would be in his and our best interest. If this is not possible, then UT should implement their ideas having a hangout like that would also be in their interest and could bring more on campus
