Pugs

Norman was a very special dog who was important to our family. We first got him in the year 2001. My father had just learned heartbreaking news: he had stage four Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. We were told to prepare for his death, but instead we spent time focusing on positive things. When he was told to stay nice and clean to prevent any possible infection, he and my mother went out and got a baby pug and gave him the name Norman. As a pup, Norman was a very energetic little bugger, sometimes too much for me and my family to handle. He was always jumping on furniture, but after awhile he settled down. He was easily trained to follow basic commands and was a really positive influence on the family all around. My dad survived his battle with cancer and shortly after my parents divorced. Norman was left living with me and my grandparents. A positive aspect about owning a pug is that they are great with kids. Many children gave Norman a run for his money and his temperament was calm and collected. Pugs are also very attentive. As an individual with special needs, Norman was very …show more content…

Taking a pug is also important because their nails grow quickly and need trimmed often. It is also important to take a pug to the vet in order to prevent ear infections—which can lead to smelly ears! Exercise and chew toys are key! Pugs need each in order to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The average lifespan of a pug is 12-15 years and Norman passed away on St. Patrick’s Day of this year at age 15. He’s a forever friend that is truly

Pugs are trained for families with children, as they are almost always patient with children and love to play games. The shape of the mouth prevents them from biting efficiently and this makes them very harmless. On common, Pugs live about 12 years, but they have been known to live well beyond their average lifespan with proper care and nutrition. Some people believe that the Pug can only be 1 of 2 color fawn or black, but…

    Pitbulls

Bullying the Pit Bull breed is redundant, refutable, and entirely wrong. The issue at hand is not the breed itself, but rather our society. Pit Bulls are classified as working dogs; however, they’ve historically been raised by their owners to be aggressive, fighting dogs. This supports the concept that Pit Bulls, just like humans, are products of their environment and their upbringing. If a dog, regardless of the breed, is brought up in a neglectful, violent environment by an inattentive owner, it is no surprise that the dog will likely be aggressive--further fueling the stereotype that Pit Bulls are aggressive.…

The second well chosen item I picked out to represent "Wonder" was a dog collar which mainly brought a lot of emotion into the story.
