Puerto Ricans were both immigrated and migrated to New York. People from Puerto Ricans began coming to New York in the mid-19th century ,majority of them finally appear to the us right after the Spanish American War. Puerto rican they were now Puerto Rican citizens the US Congress approved Jones-Shafroth Act which gave Puerto Ricans finally the U.S. citizenship and allowed them to travel without the need of a passport.
