Not only are there songs and poems that represent the people of New York, but there are also a few movies. West Side Story is a good example of how the people of New York lived in the 1960s. In the movie, there are immigrants, from Puerto Rico, and some of the immigrants explain that they do not feel as privileged as the country-born Americans who live in New York. Although this was back in the 1960s, there is still a lot of racism in America now and immigrants who move from their home countries to live in America, I feel, are being treated the same way, or in some cases worse, as the Puerto Rican immigrants in West Side
