Assignment 4 In Jean Anyon ’s essay “From Social Class and the Hidden Curriculum of Work,” she focuses on many schools whose curriculum have been carved out by social class. The lower the students families social class is the more repetitive and simple their curriculum will be, while on the other hand, the higher the social class is the more thought goes into the students coursework. Anyons basic point is that the work children are told and expected to do in school is the work that they will continue to do in their future jobs and careers. When creating my informative speech, I had to determine when I was presenting this information too which in the case is will be my professor. Then I decide what presentation to use, which in this case this is an informative speech. Before I started, I needed to create a delivery outline for my speech. When creating this outline, I had to think on how to communicate the ideas by trying to convince the audience on how to create and present an informative speech does not take as much time as they think it does. I also had to think about the duration on how much time I have to present my outline speech to the audience, which in this case would be 3-5 minutes long.…

Everyone Needs Fulfillment and Joy (ENFJ) If asked what the letters “ENFJ” stood for, many a passerby on the street could answer correctly, “Extroverted, intuitive, feeling, and judging,” a personality type based on the popular Myers-Briggs Type Indicator questionnaire. Some disregard the growing interest in personality tests as a fad, but that does not dismiss the fact that America has become increasingly concerned with personality, specifically with that of the extroverted student. In the article “Bring On the Elites!”, Joel Stein argues that education should better prepare students for the future, and many teachers use this reasoning to justify a focus on nurturing communicative abilities key to extroverted personalities. However, despite…

The results of my PRCA-24 were a little surprising but in a good way. I got an 84 which was much higher than I thought it was going to be which I guess reflects on the fact that maybe I don 't give myself as much credit as I should when thinking about my public speaking ability. One of the things the test made me realize is that i’m more nervous in regular life than I am nervous when public speaking, because I thought about the questions if they referred to the circumstances of everyday life. I guess that’s the benefit and downside to being a performer. Watching the video was a little bit strange for me because I’m always perceiving myself differently when I’m up there, which is partly a perspective switch but also sometimes it’s also focusing…

These routines and procedures are designed around the idea to give students accountability for their responsibilities in and out of the classroom. They are explained, modeled, and then reinforced to assure students understand them all. The Danielson Framework for managing classroom procedures states that students are taking initiative, are minimally prompted by the teacher, and that the overall instruction time is maximized by the classroom running smoothly. Wong & Wong (2014) is closely aligned to the framework because they emphasize the need of procedures for an efficient and orderly classroom to ensure learning. These procedures are student focused so students learn that they play a vital role in the classroom and are also in charge of their education.…

Show and Tell is a great activity to promote opportunity to teach children about asking and answering questions because a child can bring his or her favorite item to the classroom and have a conversation regarding it as a whole class: in addition, the child feels a special and everyone get to know the child more.
