My desire to make a positive impact on society has attracted me to a career in public services. From a young age my fascination with policing was one of the main factors that driven me to seek further knowledge. My interest in the course has been exacerbated through my studies at Hillsborough College. Growing up in an area that has a high crime rate, I feel that I have a moral obligation to help my community excel and restore tranquility.
I am currently studying public services level 3 extended diplomas, which covers modules such as crime and its effects on society, This particular unit addresses a number of social issues and their impacts on society. The content provided me with insightful information and knowledge regarding court procedures and the justice system. Another module I have undertaken involved health and exercise. I developed a profound understanding on how the human body can maintain a healthy life style and how essential it is to remain fit. I feel that influencing the behavior of other people through activities and sports has a positive effect on tackling antisocial behavior.
