In the article regarding the preliminary nature of public service announcements, Eric Sorensen quotes researchers Kareklas and Muehling, “the findings, suggest that the use of promotional campaigns featuring relatively strong emotional references to death/dying may be an effective persuasive technique.” This quote illustrates the usefulness of public service announcements because the announcements discourage individuals from driving while being distracted. In conclusion, when individuals see the adverse effects actions can have, such as driving while being distracted helps individuals realize their actions
