I have been in a public school system from the pre-kindergarten until college and was taught everything that I needed to know. Being in a public school, I got to be involved with my peers and be a part of group activities. Although, being in a classroom is not peaceful and silent, students were still able to compromise and get our work done. Being in a public school was safe since we had security and most of the unattended doors were locked. Being in a public school is helpful to prepare students for the real world, since we would have to join the workforce at some point. A former student that went there returned and killed about twenty students and sex teachers. The former student’s mother was a teacher at the school and seeking revenge. This shows that having a shooting in a school that kills twenty innocent children would give a parent the reason not to allow their child to attend another public school. The parent would become nervous and concerned about the predicament that could happen again. Most parents cannot afford to have their children home schooled throughout the day for at least five days a week. And some parents do not understand even though those students are home they still have to follow the criteria and guidelines that a public school would
