Public school or Private school? That is the question many people in today’s society contemplate. Students take school for granted, when in reality parents choose where to live based on a school, think about where they want to send their child to school, and how the school will effect their child. A school is a place where kids go to obtain an education and learn skills that they will use for the rest of their life. Public and private schools vary in a variety of different ways and both have many advantages and disadvantages of going to either one. Depending on where you live, public schools vary on how many people attend them; ranging anywhere from a 1A school district to a 6A school district. Public schools are run by the government, therefore they receive government funding. Since public schools receive government funding, they are able to attend school for free. This is an advantage because not everyone can afford to pay to send their child to school. Public schools offer a lot of more extra curricular activities than private schools and also provide more electives that focus more on future careers that the students may be interested in. Students who attend public schools are also provided with transportation to and forms school. Public schools do have a good education, but depending on where you attend school their will be less one on one interaction between the student and the teacher. More students attend public school than students that attend private school. This is a good thing for students because they are exposed to people from all different backgrounds, this can improve a child 's communication and social skills. Public schools are not allowed to discuss or promote religion in school, which could be a disadvantage to some students who are religious and want to further their religious background.
