Around approximately 2:16 AM on Wednesday, March 8th Residence Hall Director (RHD) on call Tay Richardson received a call from Public Safety. Public Safety informed RHD Richardson that a resident Adrian Mcafee (am4407) from McBain 501 had made another "attempt" and taken 10 Benadryl. Public Safety also informed RHD Richardson that the resident's mother had called to inform them. Public Safety shared that there were already officers on scene. RHD Richardson informed Public Safety that they would head over to McBain.

At this time, RHD Richardson called the Associate Director (AD) on call Scott Helfrich to make them aware of the situation and that the student's mother had called Public Safety. AD Helfrich stated that AD Helfrich would reach

RHD Richardson asked the resident what made them take the pills and the paramedic asked the resident if they wanted to hurt themselves. The resident replied "no". The parametric then asked if the resident wanted to hurt themselves currently and the resident said "no". The resident, again, started expressing that they wanted to get to their bed and leave the hospital quickly. The paramedic asked the resident when they were trying to get out of the hospital and the resident stated: "within the next few hours". The paramedic stated that if the resident wanted to get out in a few hours then they should go to St. Luke's because Mount Sinai would hold them longer. The resident then agreed to be transported to St. Luke's. During the ride, Adrian shared that Adrian is living with anxiety, OCD, Social Anxiety, and Depression. RHD Richardson asked the resident what was going on today and the resident replied that they had a very stressful day. Along the ride from McBain to St. Luke's Adrian kept asking the paramedic who "gave them the tip" and "what their major was" and eventually asking "who called you". At that time the paramedics responded stated that the resident's mother had called so the resident must have been talking to the mother when the resident took the pills. The paramedics shared that Adrian had said that they "smoked weed" earlier in the day. The timespan of "earlier" was never confirmed. RHD Richardson asked the resident why they took the pills and the resident stated that they "wanted to relax". When RHD Richardson asked the resident what they wanted to happen when they took the pills the resident said: " I don't know".
