Nationally, public housing maintenance is being abandoned, and the bleak budgeting funding does not pose any correction. Housing projects facing urban decay, such as Castle Hill Houses in the Bronx, immediately need $23 million, and Baruch Houses needs $241.9 million over the span of 5 years (Navarro, 2014). New York’s public housing deficit believes the ideal solution is a total reset. Since, people’s lives aren’t as easy as a push of a button, New York and similar states have to suffer with insufficient Federal funding.
