Public Health Persuasive Speech

As the years have passed mankind has used research to explore every facet of the world we reside. Public health is no exception, and many discoveries have been made through systematic investigation, in order to establish facts about how to keep individuals healthy. Via research, we have discovered that there are a variety of outlying factors that contribute to the overall health of people, which range from income to geographic location. In order to fully understand these behavioral patterns and explore the various issues that face those seeking optimal health, public health officials must know what they’re up against. I’m reminded of the “Story of Prevention” when thinking about how research benefits society and the field of public health. In the story, a villager noticed a baby floating down the river. The villager quickly swam out to save the baby from drowning, then more, more began to arise from the water. The villagers hastily assembled, and started rescuing babies continuously from the raging waters. The more we understand about the sources of health related states, the better equipped we are to combat the surmounting problems surrounding better healthcare.
