To start with, attending San Jose public council meeting is not my first time. I have an experience attend the public meeting, and the main topic of the meeting was related to science, which was super boring because there were so many words of chemistry and professional that I could not really understand. So, I already knew about how much public meeting is boring as I am able to fall in a sleep, but, on the other hand, I already knew how I go to San Jose City Council, and where I have to park, and I even knew where the meeting is opened. The meeting I attended was held on 3, Feb 2016 at 2pm in the Wing building. The room was clean, and quiet. Chair and vice chair were having a chat with other members and staff before the meeting began. The numbers of people who ready for the meeting was ten, and also there was a woman who was sitting alone apart from the meeting members with her laptop to record the document. There were less than ten attendees including my friend, and me but only one old man spoke out his opinion. He expressed his opinion several times, and each speaking should be less than two minutes. The auto timer in the left corner let him know the time left. After his speaking is finished, one of members replied. He insisted his opinion with very clear and loud voice so I would know what he complained and wanted to say. In his speech, he mainly mentioned three things that water pollution, work plan, and public art. He sometimes saw his note to remind, but he seemed like know what he wants to say since his voice was emotional. To be more specific, He pointed out the water pollution we faced, and it was general so it went fast. He also complained that the ongoing projects are delayed because of people’s laziness and extra day off so that they are wasting money and time.
