For the Iban community, they need to hold ritual for good and harmonious relationship with petara. The Iban people believe that human beings, animals, plants insects and birds granted extraordinary powers by petara. Therefore, before the women did weaving iban motif based on this, they need to hold a ritual to get permission from petara. Having an interaction with petara can be done by using Pua cloth as their identify to petara. If the petara give a warning which is typically delivered through animals, plants or birds, they need to be in certain things and in every step in order to avoid mischief.
