I highly doubt I would ever discriminate against a student, nor would I engage in acts of sexual misconduct with a student, so most of my bases are covered for this section. However, there are two other obligations I have as an educator to my students that may be in conflict with my own morals in very special circumstances. Educators are not allowed to “deliberately distort, suppress, or deny access to curricular materials or educational information” for their own purposes, and educators must also “make reasonable effort to protect students from conditions harmful to learning.” If the rare circumstance occurs where my district mandates a curriculum that I believes is detrimental to my students’ learning, am I obligated to teach it? Or should I suppress student access to the curriculum in favor of my own materials? Depending on the perspective taken, I may be mandated to do
