Pt1420 Unit 2 Homework

For this week, I was required to read chapter 2 in the "Think Python" textbook. This week's reading was a little more complicated and advanced than the first chapter. This chapter was not about writing phrases, but more about using variables to answer equations, and how to plug them into Python. The Written Assignment that was assigned, was based on what I learned in chapter 2. I was able to use the Pythagorean theorem to answer the question, by declaring the variable of each side, and plugging it in the formula to find the answer. I went to the Programming Assignment Unit 2 Solutions, and I was happy to learn that I did the program correctly and got the right answer. It was great seeing the Python Shell produce the output of 96.0. The example of finding the circumference, which was in the instructions to the Written Assignment, served as a great guide to using the Pythagorean theorem in Python.

Here I was able to read about the humble beginnings of Intel. It's hard to believe how such a giant in computers and technology today, had such a small beginning. Also, I read about the first micro-processor, which was only 4 bits, and had a speed of 108 Kilohertz. Reading this made me realize how much technology has advanced, because the laptop I'm using to write this Learning Journal, has a processor speed of 3.2GHz. In chapter 4, I read about the beginnings of Apple. I have a great fondness for Apple because they make great products and because one of the founders of Apple was Steve Jobs, who is of Syrian descent, and I am partially of Syrian descent as well. It was truly an eye opener, to see how small these mega companies were, just a few decades
