This article was a convincing one which helped me to understand the concept of biomechanical and etiological relationship between cervical and thoracic structures and how this knowledge can be capitalized by effectively using thoracic mobilization in patients suffering from chronic mechanical neck pain. In most chronic mechanical neck pain patients, conservative

The most interesting outcome measure was
Cranio-vertebral (CV) angle. Post treatment measurement demonstrated increased CV angle and this can be taken as a sign of structural improvement patient had after 4 weeks of thoracic mobilization. Moreover, almost all outcome measurements including pain reduction, Northwick
Park Neck Disability Questionnaire, neck range of motion, and quality of life status (SF36) questionnaire were improved with thoracic mobilization techniques. This article will serve as a source of encouragement for me as a physical therapist to seek more opportunities to practice hands-on approach in mastering the thoracic mobilization. Since my area of interest is in home health with more geriatric population, thoracic mobilization technique can be used to treat chronic neck ailments these patients are suffering. Also, I found another interesting article by Kim, Lee & Jeong, 2011, on the effectiveness of upper thoracic mobilization in improving the dynamic stability of lower cervical vertebra which will help in preventing early degenerative diseases.
