Psychosocial Evaluation:
Mr. Udall is a popular author who is very unfriendly and isolated from the people that live around him. He keeps everything neatly and organized. He has a fear of contamination and has to wash and shower with several different bars of soap with hot water. He is seeing a therapist that trying to help him with his disorder.
History
While talking with Simon he briefly talks about his relationship with his father, but you really don’t how bad the relationship was between Mr. Udall and his father. Which this could have played an important role in while he has OCD. In the movie he has neighbors that don’t like him and thinks that he is stuck up and very cocky, he is homophobic. When Simon gets robbed and gets beat up during the robbery and gets hospitalized. Mr. Udall won’t to take care of Verdell and at first he didn’t know what to do with the dog and after a while the dog became part of his routine every day.
The lady that at the diner that he goes to eat breakfast with is part of his routine and if she is not at work he will eat there and becomes upset. He gets her name and goes and finds out that she has a sick son and he get a lady at is author to have her husband look after the son and treat him. Which in the long run he falls in love with her.
He goes into his therapist office and burst there the door and he tries to demand the therapist to see him because he didn’t have any appointment with him. Mr. Udall wants to know how he could diagnose him with OCD and give him medicine knowing he was OCD. Then when he walks out the office into the waiting room he is upset because the office is chanced around.

Udall has his up’s and down’s. At first he didn’t like Verdell, but after taking care of him until Simon was out the hospital he started feeling something and Verdell fell in love with Mr. Udall. Then when he went to the dinner to eat breakfast the waitress Carol really stole his heart and when she wasn’t at work he helped her out by having a doctor him treatment her son. They had there up’s and down he ended up falling in love with her and at times he would think about her while he was writing in book. Then Simon his neighbor was broke and didn’t have nowhere to go Mr. Udall told him to Maryland where he talked Carol to going with them. While they were in Maryland Mr. Udall talked with the landlord and had all of Simon things put into his spare bedroom while they were away. Even though Mr. Udall is OCD he started to not worry so much about different things. The three people that impacted his life started to help him with is OCD, but not realizing what was going on. Even though it will take a while for him to completely get his OCD in control. Now that he is not so isolated from everyone he can try to start a new life with Carol.
