To date, I have conducted ten psychosocial assessments on young people, all of which were unique and insightful, and presented me with vast amount of knowledge on how to work collaboratively with the young person in a way that reflects their strengths and is client-led during the psycho-social treatment. For instance, during the facilitation of a psychosocial assessment, I was made aware by a client who was experiencing low-self esteem due to bullying at a young age, that she is a massive fan of a British girl group called little mix. After researching on this group, I found out that the group is a advocator and empowerer of women’s right and self love. Therefore, during one of the sessions I provided the Young person with lyricss to her favourite song, and together we deciphered and deconstructed the lyrics, and related it to the young person’s understanding of her own self. Through this narrative therapy informed exercise, the Young Person saw the lyrics as a externalisation of her own self, and thus learnt to embrace and internalise the lyrics that she hears so often. Hence, as evident through this example, I am equipped to work alongside with young people who may present with depression, anxiety, anger management, self-esteem etc as I am competent in utilizing the psychosocial assessment to lead the therapeutic
