The majority of psychopaths are not serial killer and they may not be violent at all. There are many psychopaths who use charm to perpetrate non-violent crimes like fraud. The Article that I have read examines extreme cases of people doing good things for other people which is Altruism and also those who commit really terrible things to hurt other people which is known as Psychopathy. It shows the different ways that these traits can develop in individuals through brain development, family environment and because of the society they live in. It also suggests ways that empathy for others can be promoted through learning. The article stresses the values of altruism and empathy in the prevention of mass murders by psychopaths. Statistically, the group that has committed all of the modern psychopathic mass murders have been men. The article does not say that men are the only group capable of being psychopathic killers but it just points out that, so far, women have not been involved in any incidents.
