Psychopath Character Traits

Everyone has certain character traits that makes them who they are, some maybe good or bad. But they make a person who they are and just because we have some bad traits does not mean that we are automatically only that one thing. Now granted if all the character traits were bad,or evil then maybe that would lead to something bigger. In the The Psychopath Test by Jon Ronson, he tries to uncover what makes a psychopath the way they are. Ronson goes on this journey meeting different psychiatrist, scientologists, and to understand their personal findings. A psychopath is someone who has no emotion, no feeling of remorse. It takes a certain person to be that way, and feel absolutely nothing. In the movie The House of Games we are introduced to two main characters. The first being Margret Ford, she is a psychiatrist, and a selling author of a book called “Driven”. Ford works with two patients in the movie. She goes back to find Mike and asks him if she can write a book about him. The book would be about “The Confidence Game”, the confidence Mike gives to other people to manipulate them to get what he wants. In the book The Psychopath Test it bring up Bob O’Hare checklist of psychopathic qualities. The first item that he has is item 5: Conning/manipulative, he cons people out of there money everyday. But that one thing alone doesn't make him a psychopath. Mike takes Ford out to show her a con at a Western Union Office. He pretends to wait for money to be wired and man walks in also waiting for money. Mike is being friendly with the man, he realizes that he is in the Marine Corps, Mike says he also is in the Corps. He makes it seem like they are similar and friends. The whole point was to give him Mikes confidence, that way Mike gets what he wants and the man gets to feel good about himself. His first tip to Ford was to “Never Trust
