Two weeks left and you are looking for the best solution on how to not only study but also be able to recall the information that you are going over. So you try to look for the answer and do so through a psychological viewpoint. Psychologists recommend that sleep is the key to retaining information. This fact is also backed up by science. I have looked at two sources that will compare this theory. One source is a popular press report by Psychology Today. That article will take us through the steps of how to incorporate sleeping into a study routine. The second source is a peer-reviewed scientific journal by Cognitive Psychology.

In the clip from ABC News’, “What Would You Do” (2013), an African-American mother of a large family is shown to be judged by a condemnatory waitress through her use of multiple innuendos about the family’s finances, size and makeup. Other restaurant patrons come to the defense of the woman stating that her actions were “inappropriate” and “politically incorrect” (2013). Despite one patron’s remarks that she hopes the mass majority of people do not think the same as the fake waitress; I believe that this is not the case. I will not say that a majority of people will automatically assume a black woman with a large family is subsisting on the government’s dole or that she has children with multiple partners, but I believe some will wonder and judge prematurely. I think there is a false belief that a majority of welfare recipients are African-Americans when in reality black recipients are relatively equal with white recipients (US Department of Health and Human Services as cited in StatisticsBrain.com, 2015).…

Sleep is more than a necessity, it is like good health and improves daily life rather just keeping you alive. The Sleep Deprivation and False Memories study were done to prove whether or not sleep can determine our ability to recall memories correctly. The sharp wave ripples in the human brain are used to help consolidate memory making things one has learned easy to access. Cutting out a lot of deep sleep hurts the memory, and can lead to excessive forgetfulness. Anything learned during the day is converted into memories during the night.…
