Psychology To Me Analysis

Psychology impacts my life in various aspects. I believe that psychology can assist with understanding myself and others more clearly and use it to help improve myself in many ways including socially and academically. One of the main aspects that psychology focuses on is human development and behavior. People develop and behave a certain way through learning. Classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and observational learning are processes that try to explain why we behave a certain way towards stimuluses, reinforcements and punishments, and through observe the world around us. Classical conditioning consists of stimuli and reactions such as the neutral stimulus, unconditioned stimulus, unconditioned reaction, conditioned stimulus, and a conditioned reaction. For instance, she would promise to take me anywhere I wanted on the weekends if I can keep my room clean for the entire week. Her offering something that I enjoy would reinforce me to comply with cleaning my room daily. Observational learning is one of my favorite ways to experience learning. Observational learning is basically observing a behavior and seeing the consequence of that behavior. It would help me learn and decided whether I should copy that behavior or not, depending on the consequence. In elementary, I learned how to play volleyball by surveying a few games. After seeing what would cause penalties or injuries, I knew what not to do. I would also watch the hand placements when serving the ball, hitting it over the net, and spiking it. Now, I understand the rules of the game and how to get used to the movements and hand placements.
