1. One might "operationalize" or define jealousy into measurable parts by recording the physical response of the subject that researchers are trying elicit the emotion of jealousy. Several physical responses' of the subject that could be recorded are: the heart rate, the blood pressure, the amount of stress hormones, or the region of the brain that becomes active. These are also examples of physiological measures, measure that provide data on bodily responses. One could also define jealousy by the number of times the subject avoids or brings the matter that is supposed to be causing their jealousy.
