Everyone has a purpose on this earth. As human beings, our main purpose is to glorify God. To glorify God is to love Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and your strength, to love your neighbor as yourself, to be fruitful and multiply, and to go share the gospel to the ends of the earth. However, we serve a God who has made us intricately and uniquely. To live out our bigger purpose, we must take the calling and passion God has placed in our lives and glorify Him with it. As we go out into the world and find careers that bring joy to our hearts, we may touch a life we may never see. The Lord knew me before I was ever conceived. He knew what kind of woman I would be at twenty years old, and what passions would captivate my heart. The Lord knew what issues would make me weep. He knew that I would want to make a difference in this world in His name. When I hear the stories of people who deal with mental illness, there is something deep down inside me that desires to help them in any way I can. Mental illness impacts so many, whether it be acute or life-long. Often times, a disorder can debilitate a …show more content…
As a social worker, a psychologist, a counselor, or any mental health worker, certain personality characteristics need to fit the bill. Empathy, compassion, and wisdom are wonderful traits to have, just to name a new. As for myself, two traits that I possess that can benefit the field are intentionality and self-awareness. When I invest myself in someone else, I want to invest 110% into them. I create healthy boundaries within the relationship, like I would with a future client, but being deliberate with another person is something I truly care about. Within my intentionality, I try to ask questions that are thought-provoking and make sure my non-verbal communication matches my intentions. Making and spending quality time with someone, or a future client, is a priority to me as

I’ve been studying psychology for three years now and I am still waiting for the day where I wake up feeling like I know more about the subject than I did the day before. As is typical for students of a field with such depth, my experience with psychology is that the more I learn the less I know. I hope that at some point I will feel like I have a decent grasp, my prospective career goals require it of me. I feel it would be appallingly irresponsible for me to do what I hope to without first acquiring a high level of expertise.…

Keeping my three personal and professional goals realistic, I would have to say a personal goal is to finish school at SNHU with a 3.0 GPA or above. I think a way for me to accomplish this goal is to stay focused on the tasks at hand, maintain a good relationship with my advisors and to utilize some of the tutoring options that are available to me as a student. Another personal goal is to work on myself, mentally. I cannot be a good mom or wife when I have the stress, anxiety and depression that I do. A way to help accomplish this goal is to not only start speaking with a psychiatrist (first appointment is August 4th) but to also have my thyroid checked. I know if you have thyroid problems it can attribute to some of the problems I am having.…

Everything that God created has a purpose. We as humans may not understand life in entirety, but that’s just the complexity of life. If one truly is trying to find his/her purpose, in my opinion, they must have patience and seek God. Patience because nothing will be easy, the things we want the most will come with the hardest struggles and obstacles to overcome. If we stick through the hard times, eventually our purpose will be revealed to us. If we seek God not only will our purpose be shown to us, but also it will fulfill out empty hearts. It will bring an unimaginable joy, which only one can experience through their experience…

Once we begin to realize who we are, the question of purpose and meaning comes into contemplation. William Craig reminds us that man cannot live within an atheistic worldview without some sort of meaning (see papers). For those individuals who have sought and found God, the search is over: He is that purpose. According to the Bible God created man for His glory, Isaiah 43:7. We fulfill our purpose by glorifying God. This includes living a life in honor and obedience to Him, 1Samuel 15:22, Romans 2:6-8.…

I have two goals in life, and the second is simply an extension of the first. The first is to be completely happy, and the second is to be a clinical psychologist. Almost every college in the nation has a psychology program, but Tufts has something more. Instead of offering only general psychology to undergraduate students, this school offers a concentration in clinical psychology. I want to make the most of every year I spend in school, which I can do best by going to Tufts and majoring in clinical psychology, which will help me reach my two…

Ones purpose is an answer to the fundamental question of life, “why do we exist?” Everybody has a different response to that question and it is that response which allows people to be happy, to give them a goal to pursue, a reason to exist. Having a “why” in life is the key to happiness because as Viktor Frankl, a survivor of the holocaust, wrote in his book Man’s Search for Meaning “Those who have a ‘why’ to live, can bear with almost any ‘how’.” The “why” he refers to is what allowed people to survive during the holocaust, as they suffered under the most cruel regime faced by any people, he expanded on this idea, “Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose.” Those who had something to look forward to, who could hope for a better future survived. This proves the necessity of purpose as a reason for not only happiness, but also life…

As a human being of this earth we are often questioning or looking for the meaning of life, what is our purpose here, why do we as humans exist, why do I exist? We know that God has a purpose for us, we may not know what it is or why but He does.
