Now, I'm a firm believer that no one has a good time in middle school, but I think few middle schools have such a detrimental effect on their students as mine did. It all started in 6th grade, when my math teacher left before the end of first semester for a job that payed more. This wasn't initially an issue, until the same thing happened with my second teacher that year. Because of that, for all of second semester my class had short term subs. At this point I wasn't really “getting the concepts” which it wasn't helped by my 7th grade math teacher who spent more time talking about her dog than telling us how to do basic ratios. But wait there's more! In 8th grade my first math teacher had personal issues come up, and left. Then our second math teacher that year was switched to another class. Consequently, I got a third math teacher. Might I add that because the school was known for being crappy it didn't necessarily attract the best teachers, so even for the short time increments where I was with a teacher, it wasn't particularly helpful. By the end of that whole experience I had lost 2 years of math and had to be tutored to make up for the deficit However I'm still a year behind where I would have been, had Morey done their job. There where plenty of other times that Morey simply didn't function as a school should but I think my description of the math program sums it up
