To me, there has never been anything more interesting than the working of the human brain. Our emotions, the way we deal with situations and the uniqueness of each individual person.
I have come to realise that phycology is something that has been a constant aspect of my life. From things as insignificant as observing psychologists at work in tv shows to comforting friends and family in time of need and finding them a logical solution. I now realise and understand the adversities that I have had in my life and now looking back at when I would have benefited from speaking with a psychologist. For this award, I'm volunteering at a soup kitchen for the homeless which has made me undoubtedly appreciate everything I have, especially my education, so this has motivated me further to persevere to reach my aspiration to become a psychologist. I'm also completing the RZSS ZEBRA programme this year which has been an incredible opportunity to gain practical conservation and research skills. It has improved my team working skills, but even more so my confidence in speaking to others in new environments and making sure my voice is heard within the group, as we must work with new people to effectively research and create a presentation and deliver it together. These skills are applicable to psychology as we also study animal behaviours, so we can understand why they act in a certain way. In addition to these I am a senior member of the school Eco group where we are working towards attaining the green flag. There are a considerable number of younger pupils who we are responsible for and need to ensure that they stay on top of work and understand the importance of what we do, this has allowed me to improve my leadership and delegation
