There are many career options in the field of mental health therefore, there are also many different work environments. For example, a psychiatrist usually works in a hospital or some sort of health facility, since a psychiatrist is a form of medical doctor that diagnoses patients with learning and emotional problems. A counselor, on the other hand, usually works in colleges, schools, or even in government agencies, but a counselor administers a variety of advice, ranging from educational options to substance abuse counseling.
