On this assignment, I would like to write an essay about the definition of culture and subculture following by the two-supported major theory that I would be using, One of the theory I would be using is Psychoanalysis theory as it would be focusing on the aspect of DreamWorks as discussed in Freud’s book Interpretation of Dream (Freud, 2009) and Followed by Frankfurt school (Adorno & Hokheimer, 2009) in the discourse of culture. According to Williams (Williams, 2009:32) culture is separated into three general categories that are “ideal”, ”documentary” and “social”. This three categories are the reason that how our culture are form. “Ideal” describe the process of human perfection or the universal value. “Documentary” is about the imaginative work of the human experience are recorded to have future generation to reflect upon the tradition culture from the past ancestor. Lastly “Social” describe culture a way of life on expressing the meaning of value in art and learning. Culture also represents a group of people cultivating value and spiritual meaning by having activities that possess intellectuality or spirituality within their social forms.
