Kiana has been observed and has shown many symptoms of mental illness. From seeing things to hearing things to a very vivid imagination. I believe she shows some symptoms of persistent depressive disorder and schizoaffective disorder. She has become very depressed as she doesn’t find joy or the initiative to act in social activities or leave her room. Her emotions greatly change as she spends more time within her room and she begins to lose touch with reality. Certain events and people push her deeper into isolation which makes her illness worse. She will need proper treatment and needs to be put on proper medication.

The patient has chosen to avoid social interactions and to stay in her room rather than leave. She states that she feels tired and exhausted without actually doing anything. The best treatments are simple, make sure the patient does not become more depressed, does not have a change in diet than what is in the norm, and always keep the patient positive.
The patient will be prescribed clozapine for the schizoaffective symptoms. Clozapine does not cure this disorder but maintains it. Sertraline will also be prescribed to help with her depression. Sertraline will relax the patient and help prevent panic attacks and worsening depression. Lorazepam will be prescribed to treat her anxiety. Lorazepam is a type of benzo medication. It slows and relaxes the brain and allows relaxation. This may also help slow her imagination from causing her problems.
She will start therapy for the schizoaffective disorder and her husband will help keep her positive and encourage her to be more social to help her depression. There are many treatments to help her disorders. If she worsens, she’ll be diagnosed with lithium. Lithium is used to prevent manic episodes and bipolar
