One of the greatest part of the mind is the unconsciousness, which is any type of memory, emotion, or aggression that does not show up in the conscious state, due to the repression of it. Freud realized that in this unconsciousness lies a natural aggression, an impulse or innate madness that human beings have in their minds, but society and culture suppressed it from becoming reality. Advanced technology has played a huge part in sublimating man’s nature, by expressing desires in a more socially accepted way. However, in our society there have been countless incidents that man broke through this barrier of repression, and has shown his innate madness through violence, killings, and massacres. The cause that allowed man to escape this repressed state is the increase of freedom in our society, and how society as a whole made rules and regulations lenient and easier to get by. In the past few years we have seen devastating headlines about horrendous killings, massacres, and aggressive riots that happen in different parts of the country. It is sad to see families and friends lose a relative or close one to a man whose natural aggression had taken over. The question that arises is what causes these aggressions to happen in this country every few months? Who is there to blame for the deaths of all these innocent people? It all comes down to the ideas of Sigmund Freud and how society has to find a way to sublimate and repress man’s aggression. Our society today has an exceeding amount of freedom that allows man to slip between the broken cracks of society and cause devastating destruction. The Bill of Rights contains the first ten amendments that allows man to have the freedom of speech, the freedom to protest, and nonetheless the freedom to bear arms. The second amendment became the most controversial topic of the twenty first century, because of the recent killings that took place. The second amendment gives, “The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, and shall not be infringed."(Second Amendment. Cornell Law, n.d. Web) People possess guns for two main reasons, to protect themselves and their families, and to kill and cause tremendous devastation. Our country and the Bill of Rights gives the American people,
