I am very thankful to have been part of the E-LINC program during the 2017 spring semester. It has been a very positive and rewarding experience that will be useful in my future career as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. First and foremost, I have learned that the elderly individuals have the very same needs as any other age group. They get embarrassed, have crushes, desire romantic intimacy and still have desire to engage in sexual relationships. In my interaction with my client for the amount of 11 weeks, I was able to witness his vitality while at the same time his fear of loosing independence. He was as afraid of dying as any other person of any age. At the end of the day, regardless his age, he identified himself as a gay man who struggles
