I am currently working towards my Doctorate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioning. I have been a psychiatric nurse for a couple of years and gained an immense amount of knowledge in clinical and administrative aspects. By being on multiple Unit Counsels and getting the opportunity to participate in rewriting policies and procedures, I have been able to learn about places of improvement with the shortcomings of nursing practice with psychiatric practice. My goal with my Doctorate degree is to gain skills in order to properly research areas of improvement within the nursing profession to better serve the psychiatric population. By attending Georgia Southern University I will have a plethora of knowledge via experienced professors
