The article I read was about trying to find the similarities and differences in brain scans between neurological disorders and psychiatric disorders. The study used a type of imaging that looks at both the gray and white matter in the brain. This is known as meta-analysis on voxel-based morphometry. Throughout the study, they found that the gray matter was decreased in fourteen neurological disorders tested. The psychiatric disorders showed only 10 cases of decreased gray matter. In the neurological disorders, there were three parts of the brain that showed more negative alterations than other parts of the brain.
