According to Cordes, O’Hare and Steuerle the table above represented the change that occurred in tax revenue and charitable giving based on four options. In option one, if all non-itemizers were allowed to deduct their charitable contributions starting from the first dollar given the results support previous claims that the increase in giving to charities does not outweigh the cost of tax revenue (3). Option two took a different approach and proposed to add a floor of $500 to those non-itemizers who file jointly and $250 for those who file single. In order to take a deduction, the contribution had to be in excess of the floor set for the individual. By limiting the deduction, it is seen that the revenue cost became lower while the amount of extra giving that was encouraged did not significantly increase considering the floor provided the subsidy to extra giving rather than giving that would have occurred without any incentive (Cordes, O’Hare & Steuerle 4).…

Psychology 201 has been a very intriguing course for me so far. I really enjoyed learning about how the brain works and how big of a role it plays in our lives. Some specific areas of psychology I enjoyed studying were Operant Conditioning, the theories of motivation, and Jean-Dominique Bauby. Operant Conditioning was a familiar concept, even though I was not familiar with the specific terminology. I think reinforcement and punishment are very interesting topics that apply to everyone's lives.…

This week we learned lots about the decomposition of our relations we are creating in the database as well how to make the relations into normal forms, which there are three normal forms. I learned that there can be data that is redundant and therefore not useful for the database. This data has no integrity and can be misplaced and even confuse how the data can be used and retrieved. This type of problem must be avoided. I had a hard time understanding how the breaking down of one relation into two or more would help keep all the data from being redundant.…

PSY3180 SHORT ANSWER ASSIGNMENT 1 Question 2: History taking History taking from a patient facilitates a comprehensive view of the patient, and a timeline of when neuropsychological symptoms occurred. Answers about the patient’s history and their problems in response to questions asked by the examiner will provide much of the needed information that is required to make an elaborative assessment ((Lezak, Howieson, Bigler & Tranel, 2012). However, considering the severity of the patient’s disease, potential language impairment, lack of alertness, and/or memory, some information about their life can be obtained from other sources, like cognitive functioning records, hospital records or personnel working with the patient, or from family, friends, and employers (Lezak et al., 2012).…

Why should someone be interested in this problem?(Why is it interesting to analyze this data set?)As students prepare for future semesters they typically want the most information they can get beforechoosing their courses. For some students having a good instructor is very important to them. Resourceslike RateMyProfessors.com offer students a way to “rate” their previous instructors, in order to provideuseful information for future students looking to take a course with that teacher. While it could be arguedthat the opinions of these students are subjective, and that the website could be augmented by non-students(outside the population of interest), the success of RateMyProfessors.com would imply a certain validity intheir model of perceived quality.
