Dawn was very happy with her mid-semester evaluation. She didn’t expect her supervisor at Day One to give her such high regard in all areas of the evaluation, such as a five, meaning, “greatly exceeds the standards”. However, there was one area of the evaluation that she only scored a four, meaning, “exceeds standards”. It was in regards to punctuality. This particular area was “arrives on time; gives ample notice if unable to attend”. Dawn believes it was the second or third day of her internship at Day One, she was asked to arrive an hour and a half earlier than her normally scheduled time. Although she left from home earlier than usual, she got stuck in traffic during the morning commute. However, she did call her supervisor at Day One …show more content…
She has been volunteering with Day One for approximately 6 months as an advocate for victims of domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, sexual assaults, and hate crimes. Although she has been “on call” at least twice a month she hasn’t had the opportunity to actually do a “go out”.
Consequently, she has realized that perhaps she needs to volunteer for more shifts in order to get called to do a “go out”. She had volunteered for ten shifts for the month of October through the first week of November.
The new learning objectives that Dawn is hoping to accomplish during the rest of the semester is to obtain increased knowledge in documentation skills, analyzing new patient information and consulting with her supervisor to assist the client/s in decision making skills, increase verbal communication as a way to gain the clients trust. Written communication throughout Day One staff and agencies involved with certain clients. To attend more multidisciplinary team meetings. Try to resolve conflict within the best interest of the client/s and to advocate on behalf of the victims involved in the sex trafficking trade, or those who have been abused and

According to Cordes, O’Hare and Steuerle the table above represented the change that occurred in tax revenue and charitable giving based on four options. In option one, if all non-itemizers were allowed to deduct their charitable contributions starting from the first dollar given the results support previous claims that the increase in giving to charities does not outweigh the cost of tax revenue (3). Option two took a different approach and proposed to add a floor of $500 to those non-itemizers who file jointly and $250 for those who file single. In order to take a deduction, the contribution had to be in excess of the floor set for the individual. By limiting the deduction, it is seen that the revenue cost became lower while the amount of extra giving that was encouraged did not significantly increase considering the floor provided the subsidy to extra giving rather than giving that would have occurred without any incentive (Cordes, O’Hare & Steuerle 4).…

Decisions for Year 3 were more challenging, I think this is so because I now have a total understanding of the simulation. After one week break, week eight, we had to return to the clinical placement, Shalom Manor. Before the break I was on the fourth floor for seven weeks, it took me a couple of weeks to get used to the residents what their likes and dislikes; especially with their seating arrangement in the dining room. Every resident has specific sites that they sit every time they enter the dining room. The reason they sit in the same seat, I believe there would not be confusion with their meal. For example, some table has regular texture diet and another table has a modification in their diet due to different types of health problems.…
