Psalm 121 1-12 Analysis

I read the passage of Psalm 121: 1-8. This bible passage was about how God will help us and protect us. This helped me to relax and know that I am being cared for. A few member of my family have recently been emitted to the hospital. I am worried about them and I want them to be safe and have a quick recovery from their surgeries. I know that God will protect them in their time of need. In the passage Psalm 46: 1-3, God is said to be our refuge and strength. This passage says that God is always found in times of trouble and that we should not be afraid. I can feel God reaching out to me in this bible passage to comfort me. As I mentioned above, my family members are going through a difficult period in their physical health. God is there

Hello, Bonnie, you are right that the Psalms absolutely belong. Psalms shows us how to be worshippers like the book of Proverbs teaches us how to be wise. In Psalms 137:2 I would suggest that not only were they not willing to sing for their captors because it was the Lord’s song but also that they were so sorrowful that didn’t have the heart use them. They didn’t get rid of their incitements, they had hope that one day again they would have occasion to use them, so they laid them aside (hung on a willow) for at the present time they had no use for them; God turned their, feasting into mourning and their songs into weeping (Amos. 8:10). Negative psalm have its place because if the Psalms were only filled with positive messages that only show…

In my life I try to remember and tell myself that the best thing to do is to ask God for help whenever when I feel like giving up on him during hard times. The next passage was Matthew 26-27. This speaks to me about how Jesus gave up so much for us so…

This week’s readings surrounded around the topic of prayer. Fung and Fung stated that the STEP found that individuals who knew they were being prayed for had more post-surgery complications than individuals who were unsure if they were being prayed for. This study done in 2006 supports a Christian worldview, as God does not give preferential treatment to those who receive more prayers than others. This is a strengths based approach at interpreting the data from this study. It also is practical as God knew that this study was being done but still had his followers to take care of after their surgeries.…

Luke 11:1-13 demonstrates the disciple’s desire to become more like the one they are following, Jesus, through their prayer life. As his close followers, they have the ability and insight to understand that prayer is the most crucial aspect of Jesus’ rule and reign here on earth, more so than his ability to perform miracles or speak eloquently in parables. The disciples ask for guidance in what they deem the most important feature of life, be it theirs or Jesus’. As Jesus provides them with the guidance they request, he gives them an outline to follow—he is not saying that they must pray for the exact things that he does, but rather, that there is a proper way to address God; it is a way of humbly beseeching God for what they need while still…

Biblical Poetic Readers: Learning How To Know God Can you live in the world, partake of the ways of the world, and yet please God? Psalm 1 is written by an anonymous psalmist, however, the reader can see the psalmist knows God, as well as understands that life without him is bleak. The Wisdom of the psalmist has shined through this Psalm to create this illustration of a wonderful wisdom psalm, perhaps through personal experience or sometime in his life, God revealed to him the importance of the godly life, how life is without Him, and how He rewards us for having a relationship with Him. This psalm also includes the warnings and what precautions the reader should heed to, so the warning will not come to fruition.…

Introduction This passage I have chosen was part of the extensive letter written by the apostle Paul around 54 AD, to the Greek church in the cosmopolitan city of Corinth, which was primarily made up of non-Jews. Paul’s letter was a reply to a letter he had received from the Corinthian church (1 Corinthians 7:1) and also to reports he had received detailing divisive issues in the church (1 Corinthians 1:11) In 1 Corinthians, Paul extensively encourages and corrects this new church in all kinds of practical issues, while also framing his writings with the events of the cross and the resurrection, as “everything else in the letter must be understood in light of these”. Just as Jesus is the central point of history, so our love for Him and intimate relationship with Him, should put God at the central point of our lives, flowing over into every aspect of what we do, say, and think.…

In the bible Jesus says to his disciple’s in Mark 16:15 “and he said to them, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”. What was Jesus saying and why is this verse in the bible taken so literally? In the world today we call it evangelism and many people are participating. The world has had great evangelists in its time such as billy graham who have made known what evangelism really means but people have their own views on what evangelism is depending on their own beliefs systems and religious views. I thought about evangelism from a person’s point of view who never really knew gods intention.…

When I read this, I was reminded of time when I was struggling and most days the only way I could find peace was to read my Bible and constantly remind myself that God would take care of me. When reading this and remembering my experience of struggling and how God helped me through this difficult time I felt the presence of God near me. Another one of the devotionals that I read discussed how people become so busy and distracted with doing what a good Christian should do that they miss what a good Christian is. They have the actions of a good Christian, but they may be lacking the attitude or have a misunderstanding of a Christian attitude. This devotional also resonated with me.…
