Next generation consoles: Playstation4 vs. Xbox1
The Playstation4 and Xbox1 have been working on their next gen systems for years and upon release date the ps4 out sold xbox1 by a lot. “The PS4 is proving to be the people’s favorite, with stock shortages still a regular occurrence and UK sales alone topping the 1 million mark.” (Williams) In the United States there are over 2.1 million playstaion4s sold on release. The xbox1 sold around 1.1 million around release. The ps4 has sold around 10 million worldwide since release still beating the xbox1 by about 2 million.
On the controllers with playstation4 and xbox1, the Ps4 has Dulshock4 and Xbox1 has something special that I’m not sure about. “DualShock4 is simply the most comfortable gamepad”. (Greenwald) Dualshock4 controller is amazing because of the touch pad in the middle, the speaker below the touch pad and the fact you can control some games with just the controller. It also has a large lightbar that changes color to show players their in-game status, and works in conjunction with the PlayStation Camera for motion control.(Smith)With the PlayStation camera you have a feature called game room witch is a PlayStation exclusive with is functional with the touch pad, speaker, motion sensor, and lightbar on the controller. There is also a feature with the camera that is compatible with live stream like twitch so people can watch you and your screen as you play a game. The Xbox one camera feature is strange because you do not have to log into your account when you make your account you take your picture on it and when you go to get on your account if goes by facial structure to log in your account and records you when you play
