The mother can be categorized as dominant because she controls everything in the story.
First thing to be analyzed is the style of the story itself. The mother takes almost 100% part of the story by telling her daughter so many things. She doesn’t even give the girl a chance to defend herself (although the girl does). Therefore, the mother is powerful.

Feminism is a political label for a women’s movement in late 1960 (Belsey and Moore). One of a feminist literary work is “Girl” by Jamaica Kincaid. The story tells about the mother tells her daughter how a good girl should behave. Here we will focuses on some aspect of the story that are seen from feminism literary. The feminism aspect are shown from the story are stereotype women in society and how to be a good women without depending on men. The other aspect of feminism in this story tells about that are instructed by mother to her daughter about relationship, manner, behavior, household and social. In this story in used a second point of you, it can be seen from every lines in the story is using “You”, “You” here refers to her daughter. It is described on, how you smile to someone you don't like too much, to someone you don’t like at all, and also to someone you like completely.
