In Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet, Providence seeks to restore order in the town of Verona. The feud between both the Montagues and the Capulets has spiraled out of the control of humans, thus resulting in the intervention of Providence. Providence disguises himself in order to cause the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, the one solution to the feud. Providence manipulates characters and events in order to end the feud in Verona.
