The field of evaluation has grown and continues to develop into a field of many facets. Several aspects of the field are easily divisible into three categories: Values, Methods and Use. Of the three categories, the valuing branch places great focus on an evaluators ability to place value on their findings while also selecting which outcomes to further examine. Much like the evaluation process, the Urban Options Projects incorporates a level of importance for value. Not only does the program seek to improve the level of assistance to youth within the Lafayette County community, the program seeks to conduct an external evaluation to ensure that the comprehensive program is impacting the lives of students around.…

Children’s Home and Aid Society of Illinois (CHASI) has been around since 1883, the agency was established by a family who observed that there were a number of children living on the street without a home, or families were not able to provide for their children. At the very beginning, the agency only dealt with foster care, and adoption, for those children who could be adopted out. Since then the agency has grown into the leading child and family service agency in Illinois, helping more than 40,000 children and families each year. The agency has eight main services that they provide with many sub-categorizes in each. One the most significant things that I learned in introduction to human services this semester was that everyone experiences situations differently, what might be something unimportant and minor to you might be a trigger for someone else. You should always be mindful of others, I think us as human beings we tend to be a bit selfish and like to think that the world revolves around us. Which, is ridiculous because the world has 7.3 billion people and counting, and what makes me more significant than all those other people? Sometimes I’ll go out to the store in a hurry and I’ll get a line with a cashier that is being extremely slow, and I get upset and start thinking of some nasty things about the cashier, without ever taking into consideration what that person might be going through.…
