Proven Guilty Tamora Pierce, a young adult author, once said, “It’s harder to heal than it is to kill” (Pierce). Sarah Koenig, the producer of “Serial,” has informed listeners that on January 13, 1999, Hae Min Lee, a student at Woodlawn High School in Baltimore, Maryland, was strangled to death. She broke up with her ex-boyfriend Adnan Syed, then almost immediately started dating a new guy named Don. The ex-boyfriend would be pretty jealous, right? Adnan Syed is guilty of the murder of Hae Min Lee because Jay Wilds, Adnan’s good friend and drug dealer, had a story that matched the call records, and Adnan’s reaction to Hae’s disappearance was mild. To begin, Adnan is guilty because Jay’s story lines up with the call records from Adnan’s phone. January 13, 1999, starts off as a fairly normal day, but Adnan ditches school and hangs out with Jay. Now, the question is: is this fear of mental disorder justified?…
