Protest Against Racism In America

Improved Essays
Racism is a huge problem in America, people like me are being treated with no respect and being yelled at with words that are racist like beaner, berry picker, which I personally don’t find racist that much, Chile sh*tter and other words that are very, very racist. This still hasn’t stopped till this day forward. In other words, every time I go out with my mom or family I always get stared at with dirty looks, not just me but my family too sometimes, and I find it quite disrespectful and get this, these people that look at me with dirty looks are white American people. I'm always telling myself that its really wrong for them to do that to me because I'm an American citizen just like then but born with …show more content…
Some riots don’t get that much of great results to this situation. They don’t always get through people and what I mean about that is that either they don’t understand or they just don’t care at all what so ever, sometimes fights can happen, really bad fights and people can end up getting really hurt, that's when police come in and try to end these riots but end up making it worse and then comes the TV news and becomes a huge deal Overall, there has been many organized protests against racism, these protests are every where around America, people are tired of not being treated like Americans. There are some posters I saw through google images that stood out to me and I wanted to share them, "No Racism, No Hate", "We All Have The Right To Life". Those are the only two that came out to me, now these results can lead up to lots of problems. The more the people protest against
Racism the more the people who are racist tend to become more vilolent and start to fight, which goes as well for riots. There will be less people being rude and racist to other skin colored people and those people who are being racist will know that these other skin colored people are citizens

Ever felt like your rights were being violated? Both Plessy v Ferguson and Brown v Board of Education deal with someone's rights being violated , however they have their own ways of dealing with it. A batterer does not always batter. Sometimes the batterer is loving and caring and at other times, they are threatening and abusive. Domestic violence tends to follow a three (3) phase cycle. The length of each phase depends on the individuals involved, although the period between violent outbursts tends to be shorter over time. In terms of risk assessment, police officers should be aware that a victim who has left the relationship or has threatened to leave might be in increased danger.…

In a NY Times article, “Is Fat Stigma Making Us Miserable?”, Emilie Lucchesi talks about the causes of psychological health problems arising not necessarily from the physical characteristic but from the overbearing stigmatization of being overweight in our society. Contrary to popular belief, there exists almost no direct relationship between how much a person weighs and their psychological health welfare; the problem lies, instead, within how people are being treated. She explains that it’s rather “the teasing, judgment and unsolicited advice directed at overweight people that can cause the greatest psychological harm.” The article goes on to introduce Courtney Bailey, a media scholar in popular culture, as she explains that the fat stigma…

In response to the deaths of Mike Brown (27 August 2014) and Ferguson (09 August 2014), many protests emerged throughout the nation. “The police response to the uprising was intended to repress and punish the population, who had dared to defy their authority” (155). As the daily protests went on, the police brutality of Ferguson increased as a result of “frustration that they {police} could not make the Black men and women of Ferguson submit” (156). The Ferguson rebellion became the “focal point for the growing anger in Black communities across the country” (157). The young people of Ferguson experienced daily harassment.…
