Anion exchange chromatography:
In anion exchange chromatography negatively charged ions will bind to the column. This will leave positively charged ions flushed through the column. By picking a pH of 6.5, protein X will flush through the column while protein Y and Z will stick to the sides of the column. Then by changing the pH to 8 it would make protein Z negatively charged and will be stuck in the column as protein Y is flushed to the bottom of the column.
Cation exchange chromatography:
This chromatography is
