A) Todd Anderson is the protagonist because among the new members of the Dead Poets' Society, he showed the most improvement. He was different from the first time he was showed as a cast compared with the last scene in the movie.
Mr. Nolan is the antagonist because ever since the start of the film/movie, he had been acting as a strict authority that hindered the members of the Dead Poets' Society.
B) The rising action is when Neil perry started to recruit members for the Dead Poets' Society. As they held meetings, I got to discover each and every one of them in depthly.
