Antagonists and protagonists have very different moral views. Protagonists tend to have a desire to aid people in need, but antagonists tend to have a want to do the opposite. Antagonists are shown to be self-centered and egotistical. On the other hand, protagonists are usually portrayed as protective,heroic, and strong. In addition, protagonists are assumed to be doing the “right thing”, but antagonists are thought to be morally ‘bad’ and villainous.
Although they are mainly thought to be complete opposites, antagonists and protagonists can have many similarities. For example, they both almost always believe that they’re doing what's right. They both think that they’re fighting for the “right thing”. Protagonists generally are fighting “for the greater good", but antagonists fight for what they want or what would help them most.
They also share a similar influence on others. Even though the protagonist may give people hope, the antagonist can come off as dangerous or scary. They both cause things to happen in society and generally get a large movement to follow their actions. In both cases, there’s a possibility that they could change how people in society view things. For example, a protagonist might get rid of a great evil or a negative source of power. Although, the antagonist may destroy a great source of
